VENICE MASK CARNIVAL

The Carnival of Venice reached its peak in
the eighteenth century, a time when some aristocrats came to the festival arrived from very different places, and the most normal thing was that the princes and nobles escaped to enjoy the event.

For centuries it was the escape route for citizens to escape from the great control of the Venetian government. With the occupation of Venice by Napoleon's army, Carnival was banned for fear of conspiracies. The Carnival was recovered in 1979.

SAO PAULO CARNIVAL

Samba is a versatile means of artistic expression that never tires the people who listen to it because it is really contagious when carnival fever spreads through Sao Paulo before Ash Wednesday. The Carnival, with songs or samba songs, becomes the master of fun for a whole week. For some, the party can be a waste but in fact it is a unifying force for the inhabitants of the favelas, where the samba was born. The strong value of the tradition transmitted by the Carnival is a spiritual food for Brazilians who are proud of their heritage.

SPECIFIC DETAILS

The Carnival of Sao Paulo is similar to that of Rio, with the most important competition in the Sambadrome. The parades present the samba schools that belong to the Independent League of Samba Schools of Sao Paulo or LIGASP. 13 samba schools compete for the prestigious first place in the Anhembi Sambadrome every year, along with two groups of afoxés, groups with Afro-Brazilian roots.

NOTHING HILL
It happens every year. London sets aside the Sunday and Monday encompassing their 'bank holiday' on Monday for one of the world's largest street carnivals; Notting Hill Carnival. Each year, close to one million people attend this two-day celebration of Caribbean heritage on the streets of Notting Hill. Celebrations include costume-clad Caribbean's dancing to traditional reggae, meringue, calypso, rumba, and zouk music, and street vendors selling foods like seasoned jerk chicken, callaloo, and traditional goat stew. Many Caribbean foods have roots from cuisines of Europe, America, China, and Africa.

MORDI GRASS
Mardi Gras is the name of the carnival celebrated in New Orleans (Louisiana), Mobile (Alabama) and Mississippi (USA). Its name derives from French, which translates directly into Spanish as "Tuesday lardero, fatty or flabby," (similar to the Spanish Lardero Thursday) but is traditionally called "Tuesday of Carnival." It is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras is properly the parade that takes place on the last day, although many times, it is associated with the whole season. The so-called "Fat Tuesday" refers to the fact that it was the last day to enjoy the culinary and carnal pleasures before the time of abstinence that marks the beginning of Lent and Holy Week.

SPECIFIC DETAILS

Two weeks before the Tuesday of Carnival, you can watch a daily parade. The parades and the most colorful and elaborate celebrations take place the last five days of the season. In the last week of the carnival, many activities take place throughout New Orleans and neighboring communities.
